More and more there has recently been an increase (up to 10% in some reports) of Google+ related content breaking into the top results and authorship results creating a better click through rate. This is where an author has tied their Google+ account to their content and a profile image and additional data maybe be shown next to their search results.
This has no doubt an effect on searchers looking for the best content and has therefore been on the top of many peoples mind for what they need to improve on in 2013 for their search engine optimisation efforts. Has this had a large effect for small business yet? Well we have certainly seen some uptake and increased traffic through Google+ and authorship – its not yet a priority for many but perhaps it should be.
