Back in January Google launched its effort to improve the important of page layout for SEO and recently this has been progressed even further. With users most likely wanting to see quality content when they first land on a Web site Google now puts more importance on the juicy content of a page being above the fold – yes the fold is an imaginary line that varies dependent on device and screen size etc however there is a lot more in play here and its still very much in the works.
Its important to read about this update as its going to affect a lot of sites particularly ecommerce I would suggest.
